Contributions to this strand will investigate the forms and media in which the reception of the pre-medieval and medieval literature and culture of the North has taken place. Obviously a great variety of themes is possible here; especially welcome are contributions discussing the uses traditional material is put to in new media and in translations. The spatial concepts of the Middle Ages as they appear in the culture of Scandinavian modernity would be one possible focus of this session.
